By Her Command: Peaceful Sleep is released!

It's out! I'm thrilled beyond measure to be able to post this link. I've heard some really amazingly good things from people who have listened to it before CDbaby had it officially go live. (My favorite so far being Copper listening to it in order to create the sample on the webpage - he had a cold and had been having poor sleep, but while this was playing he ended up sleeping for 13 very needed hours!)

This brings the number of CDs I have out to 14, which makes me very happy. Especially because I have Museum Heat still in the queue, waiting on artwork! It's looking very good for my planned release schedule, which is 3-5 CDs a month. I am so excited about all of this.

A couple of blog posts that made me happy.

Because there's more going on in the hypnokink world than remodelling my/Jukebox's house and my CDs and mp3s, hard as my brain has to work to accept that at the moment...

This is a neat thread about some people exploring hypnokink together.
She's experienced in D/s, he isn't, but they're finding their way. I look forward to seeing and hearing more from them. New hypnokink relationships always make me feel so warmfuzzy.

Next, in the general D/s sense but so very very applicable to hypnokink, comes this post from MD in 617, a blogger I intend to start following. He's not into hypnosis as far as I can tell, but he IS into making sense. The post is about making yourself attractive to others online, whatever your particular fetish or weirdness might be. I wish this post was required reading for anyone new to the online kink scene.

Finally but not least thought-provoking comes this lovely post from thrall on self-acceptance. I honestly cannot wait to have free time to talk to thrall more and miss her very much, but her blog kinda keeps me going. When I finally get a few minutes free to read the other day, this post almost made me cry. It's beautiful. Give it a read.

More standard blogging later today, I hope!

Happy stuff!

I have my plane tickets (and Jukebox's!) for NEEHU! Tickets are on sale here. This is going to be an incredible event, and the price is almost ridiculously low for the value.

This weekend I'll also be out of town on a project. I can't wait to share what it is, but since I don't know what I can say yet, I will say only that I'm really looking forward to it - and it has to do with robokink.

I also wanted to show you all this:

Isn't that lovely? That's the cover for my next release. I mentioned I was thrilled with the results of the latest designs, and I can't wait to show you more.

Yesterday I didn't post, but it was for good reasons. I recorded what might be the final of Robotics 1.03 and today I recorded the rough draft of one I'm calling "Sleep Ray." It's another fantasy, a very SF-type scenario.

More posting tomorrow! Also, if I get home in time from a munch, there will be a voice chat! Feel free to log into the server. The topic will be upcoming community events.

More happy news!

It seems CDbaby may have finally gotten the BHC: Weight file correct! The times for the tracks on the files look correct, the samples sound correct... I'm not going to make a big announcement right now, but everything looks clear.

Along the same lines, my graphic artist has gotten me the covers for Peaceful Sleep and the remaining Robotics releases, and they look fantastic. Even as I type, the finished version of "By Her Command: Peaceful Sleep" is uploading, and the art is already uploaded. I should be able to get that on sale sometime next week or the week after. She's also working on the artwork for "Museum Heat," so that'll be out sometime in early to mid-June. By that time, I'll possibly be ready to complete the Robotics series!

Today I went to a CONvergence Concom meeting, and I will be volunteering before the con and a few hours during the con as well. If you haven't seen the schedule yet, it's at this little link right here. I will also be holding some late-night hypnosis play, and will be announcing that here and on Fetlife. If you're planning to get in on Wednesday instead of Thursday and you're going to need airport pickup, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make sure it happens!

Similarly, I will be posting here and on Fetlife and a few other places when I make the decision on when the org meeting/first meeting for the Minneapolis Erotic Hypnosis Group will be. (MEHG just sounded better than TCEHG, sorry to those in surrounding areas! If you can come up with a snappier name so we can have a more fun acronym, please let me know!) I'm leaning toward June 7, but by the time I present at The Lab on June 2 I probably will have that settled in my brain and on the calendar.

Finally, but not at all last in my thoughts, sometime later today the tickets should go on sale for NEEHU! I'll post that information as soon as I know it's up, as soon as I'm up. (I'm not sure which will happen first.)

The next few weeks promise to be exciting. I am really looking forward to them!

YES!! Finally!

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Merchant's Daughter For Men and For Women is now available for sale! It has taken what feels like forever to bring this one to everyone, and I have been looking forward to it. I have a lot of plans for things to do with this mysterious woman in red, so come join in the adventure!

Tattoo pic! And Voice Chat Wednesday!

Sorry that post went up today, instead of yesterday. It was done last night and I forgot to hit post. Oops. :)

In other news, here's how the tat looks now!

I am really happy with how it looks for now, but I think later I'm going to add more purple. The question is, do I add it in the points or in the circles? Thoughts?

Also, we are on for Voice Chat Wednesday night at 9pm Eastern US time. If you don't know how to access the voice chat, please email me and I'll help you get in. This is my gentle reminder for you to look at the rules first! I'll be updating the rules post with guidelines for how to set things on a Mac and a Linux box soon.

Where did I learn hypnosis?

This is one of the most common questions I get when I meet people. I get it so often I'm going to answer it and then make a permalink to the post!

Most of my early learning was reading books in high school and trial and error. I did more progressive relaxations than I care to remember. (I almost never use them these days, but I did learn how to do a good one.) I recorded self-hypnosis inductions, I hypnotized my friends, I figured out a couple of times that it helps to ASK them first, if you want to keep them as friends...

When I got to college, I devoured every book in the library. On my trip back to my old alma mater this spring, I stopped by the library with Copper and we went and found the best book I read, the one that gave me the tools and techniques I now use. Please note there are tons and tons of fantastic books out there, but this is the one that rang the most bells for me and made me able to move past progressives and into more useful inductions.

That book is William E. Edmonston Jr.'s The Induction of Hypnosis. It is out of print, but in case people want to try and find it online the indicia information is as follows:

Wiley Series on Personality Processes
Copyright 1986 by John Wiley and Sons, Inc
ISBN 0-471-83112-3

This is not a hypnosis 101 light read, but neither is it as dense as many books on NLP. It is a book intended for academia and it shows. It was also the best book I could have picked up, since it is focused on just that: inductions. It is a history book, but it deals more with how people get into the state than many books. Since it deals with trance across time, it shows that people are capable of hypnotizing themselves with methods that have nothing to do with relaxing each and every body part in turn. And, of course, it has a chapter on Milton Erickson.

SQUEEEE! Metropolis showings!

One of the most archetypal sources for the heat in robokink comes from the classic movie Metropolis. For those of you not in the know, this movie is probably the most seminal image root for some of our most enduring mental images of robots. It's a silent film made in Germany in 1927, and for years large parts of it had been lost. In 2008 an almost complete cut was found in Argentina, and between that and footage found in New Zealand in 2005 all but eight minutes of the film have now been recovered.

Back in April, this nearly-complete version was shown for the first time at the Turner Classic Movies Festival. It was streamed online, but many many people missed out on that. However, it's now touring, and will be released on DVD in November!

This is the list of showing dates in various major cities
. If you live in one of these and like movies, robots, or science fiction in general, this is a can't-miss event.

As soon as I know my travel plans for early June for sure, I'm going to set up a Twin Cities date to see this. We really don't want to miss out!

Productive night!

I have put the wheels in motion for finishing two more CDs - just waiting on the final mix and the graphic designer now. That's AFTER the stuff I did the other day, which is going to turn out to be very important soon. I'm being somewhat coy because otherwise I'll announce things too early, and I need to keep SOME self-control here.

This is after I went to a local scene munch - my first since moving to the Twin Cities. People there were very friendly, and I can't wait to go to the next two, next Tuesday and Thursday.

Which reminds me, anyone up for a Voice Chat night next Wednesday? I'm thinking around 21:00 US Eastern time. (I know that's late for the Euro crowd... my apologies! I'll have some day ones soon.) This one would be the final test run for the software before I start having topic-oriented chats, some of which will be recorded. (The recorded ones will be clearly indicated in advance.)

Please do check out the Voice Chat link on the sidebar over there ------>>> if you haven't already! It has the rules and the software information.

I think that's about it for the night. I got a lot done, though!

New England Erotic Hypnosis Unconference!

I know, I've mentioned this a few times before. It's worth mentioning again, especially because the ticket sales are going to go live soon.

I've talked about the fantastic Boston EH crowd before. With the capable co-leadership of Mephki and Dr. Slashblight, the group has become an important special interest group in one of the biggest areas of the country. Now the group is sponsoring the first EH Unconference, and I am delighted to say I'm going to be there.

What IS an unconference, anyway? Apparently there are a lot of definitions, but as Mephki has explained it it's more of a gathering where topics are discussed without a set schedule being in place. This one is going to have four rooms where something is going on all the time. The emphasis will be less on didactic or lecture presentations and more on demos, which I know will interest a lot of people.

I already know the "EH 101" track is going to be stellar. Sweets, Solamnus, Wiseguy, Enchanter, SirQuittus, Mephki, and Dr. SB are all helping out with this one. Some of these names might be recognizable to those who have been in the community for a while. Other attendees who are talking about more advanced subjects include HypnotistZ and Dr. Hypno. (There are more presenters, I'm sure, but those are the ones I know of for certain. I'll update as I know more.)

The Saturday Unconference will be held at the Summerfield Suites in Waltham, Massachusetts on June 12. There will be events the night before and on Sunday night in Boston as well. Finally, there's a play party after the Unconference itself Saturday night which is only for Unconference attendees.

Jukebox will be attending with me, so if you want him to sign one of his books for you this is your chance! I think he'll also be talking about writing good erotic hypnosis fiction, by the way, so don't miss out.

There will be more information posted as I get it, and as soon as ticket sales go live you'll find out about it here. In the meantime, you can RSVP for it and find out about hotel and rideshare here, and find out how to RSVP for the play party here, if you have a FetLife account.

Happy Things

With the issues concerning my voice this week, it's been too easy to slip into a negative headspace. Today I'm just going to talk about hypnosis-related things that Make Me Happy. These are in no particular order; every time I try to order them I just get this huge grin and it doesn't work.

  • SirAaronhalt completed his Quest and officially became one of my Chosen. I'd love to go into more details about this, but since telling some of the terms of his Quest might violate his offline privacy, please just assume that he exceeded my expectations by a good three months or so.
  • I got to spend three whole weeks with Copper and see him dressed up in a tux and dance with him and and and. We don't get in the same space nearly often enough. I am grateful that the next time is the Rush concert in August.
  • Speaking of which: Rush concert in August! Two weeks before my birthday! WIN! (OK, not strictly hypnosis-related. But still happy.)
  • I am now living with Jukebox. I think the reasons for this happy should be obvious.
  • I also am developing things with my sleepyhead and my sleeping beauty. Two wonderful people, two people I am blessed to have in my life.
  • The uploader is working on CDbaby. Watch this space for news on when the next files are on sale! JOY!
  • NEEHU is soon. CONvergence is not-quite-as-soon.
  • Widdershinscat got married. Wiseguy and Dani Fantom are getting married.
  • I am going to a bellydancing class next week. Bellydance is hypnotic.
  • I had about six more things to go here, but this is a good place to stop for now. A real blog entry later.

CDs, tattoo, and Frolicon stuff

I've been asked to hold off a day or so on posting the NEEHU stuff, simply because the online ticket sales aren't ready yet. I'll talk about CDs and Frolicon instead.

I talked to my graphic artist and will soon have art for many more of the already-recorded and in-queue files. CDbaby FINALLY has their uploader working, so turnaround times should be much faster now. As a result, I plan on sticking to a two-to-three file a month release schedule. If I can do more, I will. I have a whiteboard full of ideas on my wall now!

While I was on the Epic Trip Of Awesome I had another tattoo done. It's almost healed to the point I'm ready to take pictures of it. I honestly can't wait. I had it done at the same place I had my previous one done better than a decade ago, and I'm very happy with it. Sleepyhead was with me at the time, and we had a great time while I enjoyed the endorphin rush. (Poor Copper was so tired he was asleep back at sleepyhead's apartment. He needed the rest!)

Frolicon was Easter weekend. Yes, I know it was a long time ago! Without going into too many details, I can say that I didn't expect to leave the weekend with a new boyfriend and a new girlfriend... but that's precisely what happened. Sleepyhead and I reached a wonderful new understanding there, and the beautiful, beautiful lass who volunteered as my demo bottom for the EH 101 class ended up more or less following me home. If you have access to Fetlife, you can see a picture of her there.

I don't know why they did Hypnodave and Prism's class on advanced hypnosis first. It seems to be something of a trend to put the intro to hypnosis class last at these cons for some reason... at CONvergence the 101 session is the last slot of the Con! But they did, and then they put the robotic session and the chakra session. The 101 class was the last of the four hypnosis sessions. That said, the attendees were incredibly warm and welcoming. I had a great time playing out on what we soon began to call the Couch of Joy. It's this big, white couch along the wall near the escalators at the hotel. We did a lot of play out there.

I had a tarot reading, I had some play time with some folks I've known for years online and adore, I got to trance a couple of people a lot and many people a little. I got to watch some friends find new things they like and listen to some other friends have sex in the shower - because I told them to. (Now they're dating. YAY instincts!) I had suggestions for the con staff, and hopefully those will be taken into account next year. I do feel like the people to whom I gave the suggestions were listening.

I made some wonderful new friends. Some I'd been talking to on Twitter already, some were brand-new. One guy just sat by my feet while I petted his hair for what felt like too short a forever. (I loved it. Every second of it. He wasn't objecting either, from what I could tell.)

I don't know if I'm going next year, but I do know that it was a wonderful experience. I'm hoping that my new girlfriend will herself blog about our journey together over time, as Jukebox has done.

Hopefully tomorrow I can tell you more about NEEHU! It's looking like a wonderful event shaping up!

Um, oops.

...or I could try to push through things, get myself REALLY sick, and end up not-so-happy.

Lesigh. Licentious Malady commented on my previous post that I needed to take care of myself, and boy, was he right. I tried taking calls again this week and ended up taking about an hours' worth total before my voice went right out.

I spent last night and this morning feeling sorry for myself, and then I got busy. I updated the website, adding in Aaronhalt as my new Chosen, links to all of Jukebox's current books, samples for my current CD/mp3s, and corrected a few things. I sent off mail to my graphic designer for the upcoming release graphics. I started getting the business going here in my new city. I updated my wishlist. (And a VERY DEEP thank-you to those who bought me things... you know who you are! Special love to @likeacaress. I am looking for a good yoga studio now!) And here I am blogging, because I darn well needed to.

The bad news right now is that I am probably not going to Dragon*Con this year. With the move on, it will be difficult for me to afford it... especially as I want to be in Atlanta two weeks after that for another conference. The good news is that CONvergence is on, baby! I will be scheduling a hypnosis meetup at that con... check here and on Fetlife for details. Also, the NEEHU (New England Erotic Hypnosis Unconference) is also on. Posting on THAT tomorrow.

I also am going to be recording in about a week and a half. I really can't wait for that. I have a whiteboard on my office wall with a list of mp3s I want to make, and it's not even a comprehensive list!

If you want to catch up with me, do check Twitter. It's not for everyone, but I do tend to post how I'm doing on there. It's a lot easier to post 140 characters than a full, complete blog post.

More tomorrow.

Back from the insanity, catching up...

So when I last updated, I had a lot going on in the next few weeks. Those few weeks have passed, and a lot has happened. Shocking, right? ;)

I just did the math, because I am a geek. Between 14-APR and 18-APR I traveled 980 miles. Between 21-APR and 23-APR I traveled 1306 miles. Between 28-APR and 3-MAY I traveled 3741 miles. Yep, that's over 6000 miles of travel in a little under three weeks. I think it's reasonable at this point that I'm tired! And that first 2286 was all by car... 289 of that last bit was by car.

Given all that travel, it's also unsurprising that at this point I've got a cold. Unfortunate, but unsurprising. But it's back to daily blog updates for me now. So, this week: tomorrow, updates on future travel plus session plans... Thursday, thoughts on Frolicon... Friday, perhaps recording a podcast instead!

Yes, I'm back. Maybe not fully back, but back...
